n Construction Inc. was commissioned in 2021 to provide construction management services for the proposed apartment building in Hanover, Ontario. The proposed development is a 7-storey apartment building with a gross floor area of 117,511.11 ft2 with 109 residential units. There is one level of underground parking, in addition to surface level parking. The development includes amenities such as; offices and meeting rooms, gym and yoga area with lockers, a party room, and a roof top patio with a barbecue area. The building has a mixture of modern/contemporary and traditional design to create harmony with the local style of architecture.

Upon receiving the project, a lot of time was spent on value engineering to make the construction cost effective with the rising material cost since the global pandemic. n Construction Inc. maintained the design and quality of the project while endeavouring to reduce the overall construction cost.

On September 21st, 2022, the owners of the building, including the construction management team and the local officials held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction of this new building. This symbolic gesture with gold colour painted shovels brought together the project stakeholders, city staff, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and the community to celebrate both this milestone and the development entailing the Town of Hanover.

Construction began on October 11, 2022. So far, excavation and shoring of the new building have been completed. The mud slab and raft slabs are currently being done in 4 quadrants. The first and the second quadrant are completed and the third quadrant is being prepared. The assembly of steel reinforcement of the columns are being completed throughout, and concrete columns are being formed. The crane has also been installed on site.

It has been a challenging but rewarding process and we are excited to see the next steps.
