In 2024, n Construction Inc. was commissioned to provide construction management services for a proposed warehouse development in Woodstock, Ontario. The project consists of a one-storey warehouse building with a total gross floor area of 108,927 square feet, designed to accommodate nine potential units, each with provisions for dedicated office space.
On August 18, 2024, the building owners, the construction management team, and local officials gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony, marking the official start of this new development. Construction commenced on September 4, 2024, and is being carried out in two phases, with Phase 1 comprising 58,985 square feet and Phase 2 comprising 49,942 square feet. The development also includes truck laneways and surface-level parking to support efficient circulation and operations.
The building presents a contemporary industrial design featuring expansive glazing and articulated façade elements that contribute to a cohesive, modern, and professional streetscape presence. The exterior wall system is composed of insulated tilt-up concrete panels.
Progress of Work: Phase-1 building envelope including the footings, slab-on-grade, perimeter wall panels, and structural steel with the roof deck have been completed. The windows and door installation have been substantially completed. Currently, roof construction and the sprinkler system installation is currently underway.
For Phase-2, the footing construction has been completed. The slab-on-grade is scheduled to be completed this month with framing work for the perimeter wall panels ongoing.
It has been a challenging but rewarding progression so far, and the team looks forward to the upcoming stages of development.
